Every day, women around the world are faced with potentially dangerous and violent situations: scheduling a handyman to come to the house, walking across a parking lot at night, taking a cab, jogging along a trail, going to a bar or a party, first dates…the list goes on and on. 27 Close Calls (TM) is a brand new way to teach women how to become Safe-From-Violence (TM) by using the Close Call Method (TM) – without requiring the use of weapons or physical fighting.
This is self-defense for the brain.
How does it work?
Women* attend classes to learn how the Close Call Method (TM) can keep them safe in a variety of scenarios. These classes are fun, interactive experiences, where students discuss real-life stories of women who found themselves in dangerous situations. By studying these cases, participants learn:
…How to recognize potentially dangerous situations before they occur
…Ways to navigate these situations to avoid them completely or to stay as safe as possible
…How to deal with dangerous situations during and after an event occurs
…How to think like a predator in order to find real and effective methods to get to safety
These methods can be used every day, whether at work, at home, on-the-move, dating, or socializing.

…Women* can sign up now for online classes . A variety of class days and times is available, nearly every day of the week.
…In 2017, Wyoming’s first (and currently only) Close Call Academy instructor, Monica Kluger, will offer in-person classes for women in and around the Cheyenne WY area. Information on these classes will be posted here, as well as in other media, when it becomes available.
…Free presentations are available for women*-only groups that explain how the Close Call Method (TM) was developed and to give more information about classes. Attendees will get a taste of what a class is like by reading part of a case, discussing key elements of it, and getting at least one solid method they can use to stay safe if they find themselves in a similar situation.
